Corporations are increasingly adopting AI in their business operations. Some of large companies form teams made up of various specialists, such as software engineers, information security experts, legal professionals, and ethics officers, to establish robust AI governance. While law firms may have opportunities to advise companies on AI governance, they too face growing pressure to adopt AI. One of the key questions may be whether law firms can secure a diverse range of specialists in-house and develop effective AI governance structures.
At this CHIZAI (IP) seminar, we had the pleasure of welcoming Takuya Izumi, who shared his hands-on experiences with AI implementation, providing valuable insights and takeaways. We also welcomed Dr. Christian E. Mammen, who offered thoughtful perspectives on AI governance and its implications for the future legal practice.
Following the presentation, we reflected on the current state of AI in the legal field and discussed our vision for the future, before opening the floor for an engaging group discussion. Together, we explored the future potential for the expansion of legal services through AI, as well as the need to adjust current legal practices.
The roadmap to implementing AI does not unfold overnight. Consistent accumulation of small improvements—while transforming legal practice and upholding high ethical standards—will pave the way to success. We look forward to the future!
We are deeply grateful to our exceptional speakers and sincerely thank all attendees for joining us.
We hope to see you at our next event!
