Visit by Tokyo Tech

NEDO Silicon Valley Office recently hosted a delegation from Tokyo Tech (Tokyo Institute of Technology), a national university in Japan.

Vice President Oshima of Tokyo Tech leads the Open Innovation Platform, established as an organization to support collaboration between Tokyo Tech and industries in Japan, as well as the US. The organization offers joint research opportunities, leveraging the university’s research resources to their fullest potential.

We engaged in discussions to exchange perspectives on the roles of universities in both the US and Japan, as well as the latest trends in research collaboration with industries. Additionally, we explored how universities can actively consider and address mid-term worldwide social issues.

Industry collaboration is critical for universities to realize their technology into real-world applications. NEDO Silicon Valley is pleased to facilitate connections between local industries and Japanese Universities that possess unique capabilities. Please let us know if you are interested in connecting with potential partners.
