Introducing Japanese CVCs active in Cleantech
On April 23, NEDO and Keizai Silicon Valley co-organized matchmaking event between Japanese CVCs active in cleantech investment and cleantech startups with support of the 4WARD San Francisco, Berkeley & Bay Area Climate Group (https://www.4ward.earth/), informal spaces – Oakland (https://spaces.informal.com/), JETRO San Francisco (https://www.jetro.go.jp/usa.html) and the UC Berkeley Strauch Cleantech to Market (C2M) Program (https://haas.berkeley.edu/c2m/). The event was held in conjunction with San Francisco Climate Week and attracted many attendees.

After a short networking session and opening remarks, Japanese CVCs (see below) introduced their activities in the US, their investment focus, and portfolio companies, followed by startups sharing examples of their successful collaboration with Japanese CVCs.
Following the presentations, breakout sessions were arranged where the CVCs met with pre-selected startups for more in-depth discussions. The event concluded with a networking session, where participants actively continued their discussions and explored concrete opportunities for future collaboration.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the speakers and the moderator for taking the time to join us and for sharing their needs and collaboration cases. We believe these further promote partnerships and build momentum in the cleantech ecosystem. We would also like to extend our special thanks to Phillip Keys, Lead Program Manager of Keizai Silicon Valley, for his invaluable contributions to making this event a success.
