On September 5, NEDO held a seminar on open innovation for Presidents, CEOs and innovators in Japanese companies operating in the United States.
Chairman of GCA Corporation Japan, Mr. Paul Yonamine, former IBM Japan’s president, talked about the importance of technology and investment for Japanese companies, and challenges of innovation. In addition, Alex Vitale, Managing Director, and Geoffrey Baldwin, Co – President and CEO of GCA Advisors LLC, explained the trend of automobile related companies and venture investment in Silicon Valley.
Furthermore, there was a panel discussion on “How Japanese companies create new business and Innovation”, and the panelists were Tsunehiko Yanagihara, Executive Vice President, Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas), Hiroyuki Haraguchi, Vice President & G.M. Industrial Products Division, Canon USA, and Nick Sugimoto, CEO, Honda innovations, and the moderator was Shingo Yatsui, Director, GCA Advisors LLC.
