Kohsuke ”Koh” is in charge of planning and operation of NEDO’s projects in the western U.S. He also conducts research on government policy, companies’ activities, trends of energy and industrial technologies including renewable energy, energy conservation, zero emission vehicles, alternative fuels, Smart Community, IoT, robotics, and materials. In addition, he is in charge of business collaboration and partnership between Japanese and US companies.
In April 2009, he joined NEDO in Japan, and has since been employed with NEDO without interruption in roles of increasing oversight and responsibility.
Project Manager in the Solar Cell and System Technology Group, New Energy Technology Department, where he was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day R&D operations of the Solar Cell Group and delegating tasks.
Assistant Manager and Section Chief in the Policy Planning and Coordination Division, General Affairs and Policy Planning Department, where he was responsible for managing and adjusting the budget for the entire NEDO organization.
Head Manager of Personnel Affairs section, Personnel Affairs Department, where he was responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating new employees, managing personnel expenses, and promoting workplace diversity.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Materials Science from Kyushu Institute of Technology School of Engineering granted in March 2007 and March 2009 respectively.
He also obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Yokohama National University in March 2016
